One-Third of Americans Say Iranian Election Demonstrations are Lacking in Media Coverage
Majority of Americans (88%) report being engaged in Iran election situation
Flemington, NJ, July 6, 2009 – A new national media study among 1,850 Americans revealed that one-third of respondents reported that the demonstrations and protests in Iran are not being covered enough by American media.
The study was conducted by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website on July 1, to obtain Americans’ perceptions of the media coverage regarding the demonstrations and protests in Iran as a result of the recent election. To view detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.
A similar, associated study was also conducted regarding the amount of media coverage of the recent celebrity deaths. The majority of respondents (63%) reported that Michael Jackson’s death had received far too much media coverage, compared to 7% of respondents who reported that situation in Iran received too much media coverage.
